Bar 5, Crewkerne 21/11/19
This was a great gig! The bar was full, and what was really nice is that people had clearly come along for the music and were attentive and appreciative. To be honest, in that kind of venue, as a performer, you don’t actually want a really attentive audience. But on the other hand it can be a bit disheartening when you play a gig and no one takes any notice at all – any musician will tell you that! It’s about getting the chemistry, balance and vibe right. And at this gig it was all in the sweet spot.
We did 2 sets with a 15 minute break. We designed the first set to satisfy our genre of Country, Folk Americana and then followed up with a second set of standards for slightly tipsy people to sing along to. The surprise hit of the evening was “These Boots Are Made For Walking” which we all loved. Thanks to Kimberley Smith for the photos below and thanks to Pip and Adam at Bar 5 – we would love to return and play again sometime.
